Ruth Ann Thomas, Manager of our Highway 62 office in Grayson County, was voted Best Banker in Grayson County by readers of the The Grayson County News Gazette! Below is Ruth Ann's story.

First, let me say I am so honored and humbled to be voted Best Banker. Thank you. I was fortunate to begin my career in banking and WMB has been a very good fit for me for over 36 years. WMB has been a great place for me to work, raise a family and stay closely connected with the community. I consider many of my clients as true friends and family. I love getting to know them, being there for them and doing what I can to serve their banking needs.

I’ve also been blessed to work with some really great co-workers who care for each other and the people in the community we serve. WMB’s family-friendly office environment makes it so rewarding to develop personal relationships and to support our families as needed.

I’m so pleased to be part of WMB, a company that puts people first. WMB always makes it possible for employees to volunteer and be involved in our communities. We’ve had some good times over the years participating in events and causes like Bowling for Kids’ Sake, Ringing Bells for the Salvation Army, Grayson County Alliance Food Pantry, Relay for Life, and volunteering at schools.

I am proud to call Grayson County my home. The people who live here are honest, hardworking and always there when a neighbor needs help, prayers, a hug or just to say “Hello”. I am a lifelong member of St. Paul Catholic Church and grew up on a farm in the St. Paul Community with seven brothers and two sisters. I met my husband, Myles, while attending Brescia College in Owensboro. I knew I wanted to raise my family in rural Grayson County and thankfully, Myles was ready to leave the city and marry a country girl. We are blessed with three children and one grandchild, who also love the outdoors; so with the farms and the parks we always spend as much time as possible outside.

Thanks to WMB, I have been able to live a very rewarding life. It makes me very happy to be a part of a community that supports families and builds life-long friendships.
