Wilson & Muir Bank & Trust Co. President & CEO, Frank Wilson, announced in August that Robert E. “Chip” Sutherland, Jr., has been appointed as Wilson & Muir Bank & Trust Co.’s newest Director. Wilson commented, “I am very excited that Chip is joining the WMB Team. He has an incredible resume and will bring a wealth of knowledge to our Board of Directors. We look forward to his contributions to Wilson & Muir Bank and its future growth.”

Sutherland graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1996 with a bachelor’s degree in economics. He continued his education at Bellarmine University, where he attained his MBA in 2001.

Sutherland began his career in public finance in 2002 with Hilliard Lyons which was later acquired in October 2019 by Baird Financial Services Co. His responsibilities providing investment banking and advisory services to Kentucky issuers have led to more than $10 billion in issuances for Kentucky entities including working with municipalities, K-12 schools, universities, municipal utilities companies and healthcare institutions.

A native Bardstonian, Sutherland and his wife, Nora, now reside in Jefferson County where they enjoy three daughters, Abigail, Lucy and Lilly.
